2024 Forst Kirchenstück Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs dry – 94 P
With its firm structure and licorice and peach chutney flavors, this compact, full-bodied GG makes a bold statement. Serious power in the long, driving finish. Made for the long haul. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2027.
2024 Ruppertsberg Reiterpfad-Hofstück Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs dry – 94 P
Maybe not the greatest of the 2024 Pfalz GGs, but this already gives a lot of pleasure. The fennel, bergamot and Amalfi lemon flavors on the well-structured, medium-bodied palate are fascinating. Long, structured, zesty and harmonious finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
2024 Forst Jesuitengarten Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs dry – 93 P
Crisp and quite tannic, but with abundant yellow peach and citrus fruit, this is a firmly structured GG that should appeal to those seeking grip. Plenty of depth, but needs some time to fully harmonize the structure. From organically grown grapes. Drinkable now, but best from 2027.
2024 Deidesheim Kieselberg Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs dry – 93 P
Very fresh and citric with some melon and guava complexity, this is a very refreshing expression of the Pfalz in the 2024 vintage. Real lime zest intensity in the super-fresh finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
2024 Forst Ungeheuer Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs dry – 93 P
The aromas of peaches and talc pull you into this juicy and generous dry riesling that has a very solid base, but is so well balanced that it gives ample pleasure right now. Long, very harmonious finish. From organically grown grapes. Drink or hold.
2024 Forst Pechstein Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs dry – 92 P
The tropical flower aromas stand in abrupt contrast to the firm, quite tannic structure of this compact, medium-bodied wine. Lots of grapefruit pith character in the firm finish. Needs time to harmonize all of this. From organically grown grapes. Best after 2027.
2024 Forst Freundstück Riesling VDP.Grosses Gewächs dry – 92 P
The peach chutney, smoke and licorice aromas pull you into this boldly structured GG that’s built for the long haul. There’s nothing half-hearted about this, but I wonder if a bit more light and fruit would have made for a more exciting wine. From organically grown grapes. Best after 2027.
