After the death of Andreas Jordan, the property of the former Jordan winery was divided into three parts. These became today&#8217;s wineries &#8211; Geheimer Rat Dr. von Bassermann-Jordan, von Winning and Reichsrat von Buhl. We would like to celebrate our 175th anniversary by producing a very special wine. As the name Buhl is inextricably linked to some of the best vineyards in Forst, we decided that only the best grapes from one of these vineyards would be suitable for such a wine. In 2021, we harvested grapes of \u201cmonstrous\u201d quality from one of our best plots in Forst. The wine was matured in a St\u00fcckfass and kept for this special occasion. The wine is typical of the vintage, tangy and refined. On the nose apricot and white flowers paired with a subtle smoky note. The palate initially reveals lemon and a slightly tart grapefruit with a distinctive acidity followed by a melting, velvety finish. A wine that is sure to give great pleasure on its 185th birthday and beyond.The label is derived from the oldest printing plate still preserved in the winery from 1921 and uses the quality terms in use at the time. The term \u201cWachstum\u201d (growth) is a historical term that was used until the wine law of 1971 came into force. This meant that the product was made from grapes grown in a vineyard owned by a vineyard owner (estate wine).
